Cancel My Policy - Refund



What can I do with my policy if I am no longer travelling and have received a refund for my holiday?

In the event that you are unable to move the trip to an alternative destination, and are offered a refund from your travel agent or tour operator, we are happy to cancel your policy and refund you as described in your policy terms and conditions.

Automatic cancellation rights
You may cancel this policy within 14 days of receipt of the policy documents (new business) and for Year Round policies the renewal date (the cancellation period) by writing to the address shown in your schedule during the cancellation period. Any premium already paid will be refunded to you providing you have not travelled, no claim has been made or is intended to be made and no incident likely to give rise to a claim has occurred.

Cancellation outside the statutory period
Should you wish to cancel your policy outside of the 14 day cooling off period, and can confirm that there have been no claims on the policy and that you have not travelled, the following cancellation terms will be applied dependant on what type of policy you have purchased.

Trip Travel, Long Stay and Young Traveller policies
If we agree to refund, then we will refund 50% of the policy premium. If you have also paid an additional premium because of an existing medical condition, we will refund that portion in full.

Please note for policies issued in 2019 there is a £15 Admin Fee, as detailed in your policy wording. There are no Admin Fees for policies issued in 2020.

Year Round policies
For policies purchased in 2019 - If we agree to a refund, then we will refund 5% of the total premium (including any additional premium charged for an existing medical condition) you have paid, for each full calendar month remaining on the policy from the date of cancellation.
For policies purchased in 2020 - If we agree to a refund, then we will refund 1/12th of the total premium (including any additional premium charged for an existing medical condition) you have paid, for each full calendar month remaining on the policy from the date of cancellation.

Please note for policies issued in 2019 there is a £15 Admin Fee, as detailed in your policy wording. There are no Admin Fees for policies issued in 2020.

Please note, for any new policy purchased or holiday booked after 21st March, whichever is the later, our policies do not provide cover for cancellation, abandonment or curtailment claims if the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises against all or “all but essential” travel. Our policies will also not cover any claims caused by or relating to Coronavirus, COVID-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-COV-2), any mutation of Coronavirus, COVID-19 or SARs-COV-2 or any pandemic or fear or threat of any the above. We also can not cover any claims relating to any fear or threat concerning these viruses.
