Our Brexit Promise

Any policy already issued for travel post-Brexit will remain in place and cover will continue from the time you bought your policy.

If you have a policy already issued and you are due to be abroad in an EEA country over the Brexit period your cover will continue. In the unlikely event of a no deal outcome and if air traffic is grounded, or there are any other interruptions to travel:

  • if you are abroad, we will automatically extend your cover at no additional premium
  • if you have a policy in place and are unable to travel, we will offer a full refund or give you the option to change your travel dates within the usual terms of a policy.

It is also important that before you travel to follow government advice, as well as your travel insurance and airline/holiday providers’ terms and conditions.

If you have any questions our team will be happy to help. Just call us on 0800 093 4647.

Citybond Suretravel Top Brexit Travel Tips:

When purchasing your travel insurance policy, make sure you think about the levels of cover you require and chose a policy that is suitable for your needs. Take a look at additional options such as Travel Disruption, and whether policies include schedule airline failure cover, as these additional aspects may provide added peace of mind.

Don’t delay, buy today – it’s best practice to buy your cover as soon as your travel arrangements are in place to protect you against cancellation risks.

The EHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance, and this is even more the case now a no deal outcome may invalidate the EHIC benefits. All Citybond policies cover emergency medical treatment, and repatriation. Please ensure you declare all existing medical conditions at the time of purchase.

Whilst we all know the recommended times that we should allow for checking in, dropping our bags and getting through airport security, it may assist if you allow a bit more time just in case you are faced with longer queues.

Check your passport’s expiry date as it’s always best practice to have at least six months left when you travel.

Before travelling check the Foreign and Commonwealth’s website for up to date travel advice and information.
